Hey girl, welcome to or welcome back to the Christian Girl Community Podcast. My name is Maya and I'm your host, and I'm so thankful and I'm so blessed that you've decided to tune in for yet another podcast episode. And without further ado, just make sure that you check out the Instagram page, the Christian girl community, um, just to stay updated with any new topics that we might talk about or even have a part in picking a new podcast episode. So, with that being said, let's just jump right into today's podcast episode. Hey girl, hey, welcome back to the Christian Girl Community Podcast. As I said in the introduction, my name is Maya, and I am your host. And girly, I am so thankful that you're here. And man, it's been a minute. Like, I can say that it's been well overdue for yet another podcast episode. But here we are, by the grace of God, back at it again. And guys, so many things have been happening in my life, so I do have a pretty good excuse, but not a good enough one. So I'm sorry, girlies, for leaving you guys hanging for like a long time. Um, but here we are again. The Lord has been putting on my heart to do another podcast episode, and the topic I find is like super important. Um, as pretty much all the podcast topics that we talk about, they're very relevant, they're very relatable, and there are a lot of things that we either go through as Christian women or struggle with as Christian women, women in general, just in the world, trying to live our life for the Lord. So today's topic is titled Fear Is Not My Future. And the reason why we're doing this podcast episode about fear is I was driving my car after some things were happening earlier today, and I was driving on my way home, and the song Fear Is Not My Future by Maverick City was playing in my head, and I was like, Oh, this is perfect, the Lord, this is exactly what I needed. Because the enemy tries his best to sneak fear in, to sneak anxiety in, to sneak past traumas into your life to get you far from God, to get your faith in God to waver. Um, so I was like, Lord, thank you so much, and then I had the thought to you know share um about you know fear and how it's something that I would struggle with as well, and I still do struggle with sometimes, and it leads to procrastination, it leads to not even flowing in the fruit of the spirit, or it leads into all sorts of things, like even not um walking in your true God-given calling, which is scary. So, today we're gonna talk about fear is not my future, and this also goes out to the girlies who maybe are afraid of their future and have so many questions, so many things on their mind and on their heart about am I gonna be okay in the future? And the reason why you might be asking that is probably for a lot of valid reasons, you know, because of past trauma, because of uh maybe something that's scary that you have to do or have to go through, or maybe you're just going through a storm in your life right now, and it seems scary, you don't know how you're gonna make it out of it. And this is something that happens to all Christians. The disciples in the Bible were literally in a storm, and Jesus asked them outright, He's like, Where are your where is your faith, guys? He's like, I thought you said you had faith in me, but when this storm came, you took your eyes off of me, and you know, you got distracted, and now you're scared, and that happens in life all the time because the devil comes to steal, to kill, and destroy. That is his job, and he will stop at nothing to make us afraid, to make us far from God, to have us lose faith in God, and to just go crawl into a hole and basically die, like spiritually or even physically. So it's our job as women of God to not let that happen. So we're gonna talk about that today. And when Gabriel came to Mary and was about to tell her, Hey, your life's gonna change, you're about to be the mother of Jesus, he said, Do not be afraid. When Jesus appeared to the disciples as he was walking on the water and they were in the boat, and he was literally saying to them, Do not be afraid, for it is I. You know, so there's a bunch of stories in the Bible that God uses to show us, do not be afraid. There are scary things that will happen in life, but God is with you, he is within you, and greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. So we're gonna break down some scriptures today, and we're gonna kind of talk about them and how it's relevant in our life. And the first one I want to start out with is in 1 John chapter 4, verse 18, and it says, There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. So if you're in love, which is if you're in God, because God is love, and you're abiding in him as he says in his word, and you're constantly talking to him, involving him in the things that you're going through, or even the struggles, when you start to have those thoughts to pray about it, that's abiding in him. Um, he will cast it out because faith in God and fear don't exist. Obviously, there's like a godly fear, which is different, but I mean fear, like crippling fear and anxiety and depression. That is not from God. God would never say be afraid, don't go out into the world and spread the gospel. But the enemy would say, be afraid. Because what if people don't want you to share the gospel to them? What if people are gonna get mad at you or embarrass you or all these things? And this is something that I struggle with too, guys, like evangelism in person. That is one of my weaknesses right now that I have to get over, have to stop being afraid. Um, and yeah, so that is one thing about me, and I'm sure some of you can relate to that. It's nerve-wracking, it's like, oh, I'm going out of my comfort zone. But Jesus wants us to do that, so I'm trying to be better at that and just finding ways that I can evangelize because the Holy Spirit moves differently through different people, there's different techniques to evangelism. Anyway, this podcast episode is not quite about evangelism, but I'll have to get my husband on the show, um, and he will talk about that because he loves to evangelize, he's an evangelist at heart, and it's amazing. So, yeah, as if you did not know, guys, I got married in November of 2025, and a little testimony about that was I was afraid, guys, and it's not because he's not a great guy, it's because of the speed of us getting married. So, a little backstory we started dating in uh December 2024, and we got engaged in August of 2025, so it was nine months into our relationship that God wanted us to get married um literally as soon as possible. So, Cody, my husband, he wanted to get married like the next month, or if we could have. But I said, No, I mean, as you know, girlies, like most of us dream of our wedding our whole life. We have the dress we want picked out, we have the bridal party we want, we have the venue, like ideas, you know what I mean? Things that we think about, and my testimony is I've been praying for a husband since I was what 16 years old, maybe even younger. So I had faith that he was gonna come, but my faith was being challenged in the whole process of planning the wedding, getting everything, but you know what happened, guys? God literally came through so much, and right now, recording this podcast, I've been married for almost seven months. I have a house, I have a husband who I love and I've prayed for every single day. I have a cute little puppy named Bronco, he's an American bulldog. I have amazing in-laws, I have amazing people in my life, like his family is amazing. I love them. Um, and they welcome me with open arms, and that's everything that I wanted when I was younger, and I was thinking about when I got married, you know, I want to have a good relationship with my extended family like that. And um, yeah, so God came through, but I had to have faith in him. There was literally a point in that season of my life where I had to either like say no, I'm not getting married this year, and I'm getting married next year, which a few people in my life were giving me wisdom saying, No, like God wants you to get married soon this year, and I didn't fully understand it, but that's the thing about faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. So when I couldn't see the outcome, or I couldn't see what's on the other side of this storm, I guess like you could say it's not really a storm, but if you've ever planned a wedding, it can be s really stressful. And I tried to cram all of that in in two months because we got married in November. We were engaged in August, and then you have September, and then you have October, and in November we got married. So everything was happening super fast, but like I said, God provided. So when you have faith in him, it's impossible like to not please him. So without faith, it's impossible to please God. So when he sees that you have faith and you're trusting him in a really difficult situation, um, when you have to make some pretty big choices, um, and you have faith in him and you trust him and um trust his word, he will come through in that. So that's the testimony about me getting married, and yeah, it's just been amazing, guys. So thank you for all of you who have asked me, who have seen my posts and commented. Um, it's just been amazing. Um, but yeah, back to the subject, fear is not my future. Um, faith and fear cannot coexist, they cannot exist at the same time. Um, as we talked about. And 2 Timothy chapter 1, verse 7 talks about this. It says, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. So what we have to do is we have to replace fear with trust. And I know it's super, super challenging, especially in the moment when you're going through a lot. And like I said, like you don't know the outcome, you don't know if you're gonna get the job you applied for, and it's a really, really big one. And if you don't get it, you don't know what you're gonna do. Um, you don't know if the relationship's gonna work out, and it's scary going back out into the dating pool. Like things like that, it's scary moving to a new place, but who knows what God has for you. You have to trust him, and the leading of the Holy Spirit will not lead you wrong ever. Like, when has somebody ever said, I regret listening to God? Like, no, no one's ever said that. Um, people have said I regretted not listening to God because God knows best, and the thing I love about God is he's such a girl dad, he loves his daughters, like he literally came down to earth to have interactions with the women at the well, with the woman with the issue of blood, with the little girl who died, and her her father came to Jesus and said, Can you heal my daughter? Like, Jesus came so that we might have life and life abundantly, and he doesn't want us to live in fear, especially not fear of our future. So, to the girl who is struggling right now with fear, or even maybe the circumstance that you're in, um, doesn't look very hopeful, doesn't look very bright. I just want to remind you of the God that we serve because God is awesome, he's amazing, he moves mountains, he parts seas. Okay, he brings water out of a rock. Like, he does some amazing things. If you're ever doubting God's ability, I just challenge you to look at a crazy story like that in the Bible. Like, when Moses split the Red Sea, nobody thought they were gonna like walk through the Red Sea on dry land. Like, it doesn't make logical sense, but that's the thing about God, he loves to throw in a plot twist. He says it looks like the end, but I am God. Like, he always loves to do that, and that's one thing I love about God is he always has you leaning on him and trusting in him and having faith in him, and it will it will test your faith, life will test your faith. Like the devil will try his hardest, and sometimes even God tests your faith so that you and him can see where you are at in your faith walk. So, just want to encourage you today, girly, to have faith in God, to trust him, trust his plan, trust his purpose, trust where he's bringing you. It might not be where you want to be right now, but it's where he wants you to be right now, and he sees your future. So you can trust God with your today because he's already written your tomorrow. So, girly, I just pray that um the peace of God would just flood your heart and your mind right now, and that you would cast all your anxieties unto the Lord because he cares for you. So, Father God, in Jesus' name, I just pray for the girl on the other side of the screen, Lord. You know exactly what her life is like, you know exactly what her living situation is like, Lord. You know what her job situation is, you know the stresses that she goes through on a daily Lord, you know the fears and anxieties that she has, you know the temptations that the enemy tries to bring to her, Lord. But Lord, I thank you that we've overcome by the blood of the Lamb and that we are conquerors, Lord. We are more than conquerors, Lord, through Christ Jesus, Lord. So I pray that you would help us to tap into our God-given gifts and abilities, Lord, but also to have more faith and more trust in you and to step out, Lord, in that faith, Lord. Um, to tell mountains to move and to part waters, Lord, and to to live the life that you have called us to live. So I pray this all in Jesus' mighty name, amen. Girly, I hope this episode has truly blessed you, and yeah, I pray that the Lord just gives you peace in your situation, Lord, and he gives you courage and faith and um helps you to trust more in him. And you know, it's like going to the gym, it's like a muscle that you have to build. Trust, you have to constantly trust in God for everything, every day. So, girl, if you've enjoyed this podcast episode, please just let us know on Instagram, just uh send a message and we'll respond.
